    Experience volcano climbs and gorilla tracking

Conservation importance:
The park protects two world endangered animals, Gorilas and Golden Monkeys. Located in the south west corner of Uganda, the park is contiguous with Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo to the west and with Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda to the south. The 3 parks form434km2 (168square miles) Virunga Conservation Area.

Size: At 33.7km2 is the smallest park in Uganda
Tourist Attractions: Gorilla and Golden Monkey tracking and bird watching are the key activities. Volcano Climbing that includes Mt. Muhabura 4,127m, Mt. Gahinga 3,474m and Mt. Sabyinyo3,645m. Big game includes Buffalos, Elephants, Loepards, Sported Hyena, Jackals several bush pigs, duikers and Bushbucks. However all are rarely seen due to the nature of the terrain and the habitat and absence of roads for game drives.

Special Flora: Giant lobelia groundsel, everlasting flower and a wide range of flowering plants.
