Marvel at the magnificent falls on the great wide Nile as it naturally squeezes into a narrow gorge and plunges over the ruminant rift valley wall forming a mighty cascade with thunderous roar. It plummets down into the “Devil’s Cauldron” forming a rainbow. This is the masterpiece of the park.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1. The Rhino Sanctuary

 

You will leave Kampala at about 8:00 am after your breakfast  and head northwards to Murchison Falls National Park. Your first activity will a nature walk in the Rhino sanctuary. Rhinos were hunted to extinction in Uganda and now there is a concerted effort by government to multiply Rhino population in the parks.You will have ample time with the Rhinos and then continue to Masindi for lunch.  Thereafter, proceed to Murchison Falls National park for dinner and overnight at the lodge or camp of your choice between luxury , midrange and budget.

Day 2 Game Drive and Boat Cruise on the Nile

 

Warm yourself with early morning cup of coffee or tea before embarking on early morning game drive.  Your guide will take you through the northern flank of the park. Expect to spot game like Lions, Buffaloes, Roth’s child Giraffes Hartebeests Oribi, Hyenas, waterbucks, antelopes and on a lucky day Leopards. Drive back to your lodge breakfast. After lunch take a boat cruise on the Nile.The cruise begins with serenity and climax with thunderous roar of the falls towards the “devil’s cauldron”. Here you will marvel at the hippos, Crocodiles, Elephants and an array of birds including goliath herons, cormorants, hornbills, pelicans, bee-eaters, Kingfisher and the rare Shoebill  to name but a few. Disembark from the boat and hike to the top of the falls and have a spectacular view of the great wide Nile being forced to squeeze into a gorge of just only seven meters forming a spectacular thunderous roar engulfed by mist often crowned by a rainbow

Day 3 Chimpanzee Trekking

 

Leave Murchison national Park and head to Budongo forest for Chimpanzee trekking. Look out for birds, reptiles and rare insects. Lunch in Masindi and proceed to Kampala for overnight
